  • Ryan Gander public art installation in Central Park and at Guggenheim Museum New York

    Ryan Gander has been commissioned by the Public Art Fund to create a new installation for the Doris C. Freedman Plaza at the southeast corner of Central Park, New York. Entitled The Happy Prince, the installation is on view from September 15, 2010 - April 10, 2011. Ryan Gander will also launch the fall 2010 Public Art Fund Talks series on Thursday, September 16 at 6:30pm with one of his celebrated Loose Associations presentations. In conjunction with this project, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum will also present a new commission by Ryan Gander from October 1 - January 9, 2011.

    Works by Yael Bartana and Barbara Visser are included in the groupshow Monumentalism, the first show in The Temporary Stedelijk, the exceptional, short-term use of the museum's historical building in the anticipation of the  grand reopening of the renovated facilities. Exhibition opening August 28, 2010

     

  • Yael Bartana winner of 4th Artes Mundi Prize

    We are very proud to announce that Yael Bartana was awarded the 4th Artes Mundi Prize for contemporary art at National Museum Cardiff on 19th May. This prize of £40,000, is the UK's Largest Art Prize. Yael Bartana was awarded the Prize for her work of the last five to eight years which has, according to the Artes Mundi Prize organization, "consistently stimulated thinking about the human condition and adds to our understanding of humanity". See www.artesmundi.org and also the BBC blog and UKWirednews.  The exhibition with works by Yael Bartana and the other artists selected for Artes Mundi 4, is on view at the Museum in Cardiff until 6 June 2010.
  • Yael Bartana wins prizes at Oberhausen Short Film Festival

    Yael Bartana's "Mur I Wieza" has been awarded the Principal Prize by the International Jury and has been awarded the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury. The international Jury statement about Mur I Wieza:

    A surprising approach that exposes and satirises the strategies and style of propaganda films; an engaging, expectation-twisting and mind-opening experience for the viewer, and a masterclass in cultural studies. For providing a heterodoxical point of view on a highly-charged political issue and exposing its extreme complexity in a critical, yet potentially conciliatory way.

  • Carla Klein at Common Ground exhibition at Nieuw Dakota
